Social Media Marketing in 2022: Build Your Brand’s Image

The right approach to social media marketing pays off.

It’s kind of hard to believe Instagram has been around for almost 12 years. What began as a photo-sharing app has blossomed into a major social media marketing tool that reaches millions of consumers. Are you getting as much out of it as you should be?

Two years after Instagram launched, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg recognized its potential and shelled out $1 billion to purchase the platform. Facebook took it from purely a photo-sharing service to incorporating video, including live video in 2016. This falls in line with the increasing popularity of video on sites such as Facebook, Twitter’s live streaming option, and of course, YouTube.

Video Marketing Takes Center Stage

Did you know consumers spend 88% more time browsing websites that have video content? And did you know that 72% of customers use video as their main source for learning something about a product? These two stats alone are enough to prove to marketers that they need to produce video content and find the right avenues for delivering them.

A Wyzowl survey late last year found some interesting results from 582 respondents, including marketing professionals. The following are some of them:

  • 86% of businesses use video as a marketing tool
  • 92% percent of marketers say video is an important part of their strategy
  • Live-action video is the most popular, followed by animated videos
  • Explainer videos are the most commonly created
  • 97% spend less than $10,000 on videos, with the bulk spending between $0 and $500
  • 55% of videos are created in house

If you’ve tried video already and found that you had a positive return on investment, you join 87% of marketers who say the same.

You’ve Got Options

Social media marketing videos are not limited to one industry or one demographic. While the most popular are live action and explainer videos, that doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from branching out to other avenues.

For example, by going live on social media, regardless of the platform, you can provide real-time information about what’s going on with your brand, promote a new product or service, tout a promotion/giveaway or just introduce your team, which helps to give insights into the personality of your company.

The more personalized you can make your video content, the more traction it is going to have, which means it’s going to get more likes, shares and views. If you want to see the best response possible, work with a team of professionals who know how to plan, create and distribute high-quality video content.

That’s what we do at SJC. We’ll help you get to know your target audience, what they respond to in marketing content and then build the content for you. Contact us today and start bringing more eyes to your brand.
