Creating Social Media Content That Leads Consumers to Make Decisions

A person sits at a laptop, where a bank's social media profile is pulled up on the screen.

An estimated 72% of consumers use social media to research products and services before buying. When consumers are in the decision-making stage, they’re often seeking valuable information to help them make informed choices. Even businesses in traditionally “boring” industries can benefit from recognizing and addressing this need for informative, educational content.

Show Your Individuality

Your organization might share many similarities with your competitors, but something about yours adds value where others do not. Your social media content can highlight this value proposition.

For example, a company aware of competitors’ lack of experience can capitalize on the fact that its team brings industry insights that make it a leader in its industry. Or, a company with a vastly superior ability to provide service can integrate tips and insights into its social media strategy that show it is willing and able to tackle consumers’ toughest problems.

Establish Credibility

You know what you bring to the market is top-notch, but not everyone knows your solid reputation, so they don’t automatically trust your business. Consumers might see that what you offer is a good fit, but many will need to know you can be trusted before they hit the buy button.

How do you build trust?  A good place to start is by offering “social proof,” the idea that people are more likely to trust a company when they see that fellow consumers trust it. Your social media posts can offer evidence of real-world relationships you’ve built, such as customer feedback or how your organization solved a specific customer problem.

Social media marketing isn’t always about touting a product or service; sometimes it’s about providing examples of how you’ve established your credibility.

Stay Relevant

Staying consistent with your messaging and posting frequency can help potential customers remember your brand when a situation arises. This is where many brands struggle. They don’t have the time or expertise to develop a consistent message or know how the content should look on each platform.

At SJC Marketing, we know the struggles because many of our clients experienced them before coming to us. Our team of social media marketing experts has a lot to offer, so contact us and find out how we can help you build a stronger presence, connect with the right audience, and turn social media into a more effective part of your growth strategy.
