The most exciting time in college basketball has come to a close, and many of us now look back at our busted brackets and think about the unexpected, unanticipated upsets of March Madness 2021. Who thought Oral Roberts University would upset Ohio State in the first round? Or that Villanova would make it past the first round without their star player?
Some of our team members decided to join in on the fun and fill out our own brackets. While most of us do not have a vested interest in college basketball (except for one tall SJC account manager), we all selected our hopeful winners very strategically. To be truthful, some of us probably tossed a coin, picked the best uniform, or watched a TikTok of a dog selecting the team to choose who was going to win. The point is that our science behind our choices did not matter in the long run, because we all were done in the first round of games.
Our solution to continue the fun in our office was to create another bracket. Over the past few years, SJC Marketing has come up with some of our very own Sweet 16 Brackets. In the past, we have created a Breakfast Cereal Bracket, Sweet 16 Candy Bar Bracket and a Netflix Series Bracket.
This year is no different. We wanted to show our support of local businesses, so we created the March Madness Munchies Bracket. We asked 16 local restaurants to select their most popular appetizer to compete in our bracket. Team SJC was dedicated to the research it took to vote for the best appetizer. We tasted tested each appetizer to choose our favorite. But to prove that we were unbiased in our voting, we opened the voting up to the public and allowed them to vote for their favorite local appetizer.
While each appetizer was so delicious and we would absolutely eat these tasty starters again, we had to select a winner. The big winner was the chips and salsa from Norty’s Bar & Grill. It was delicious!
