All You Need Is Some Monday Morning Coffee and a Good Message

SJC Marketing shares one of their favorite places to grab a delicious drink on date night.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” While we don’t live in the 18th century England that Charles Dickens speaks of in A Tale of Two Cities, it sure feels like we are living in some crazy times. And when the chips are down, what do you need to pick yourself back up? Sometimes all you need is nostalgia and a good message.

Some of the most important messages are ones we hear when we are young.

You will find many messages being spread through different marketing platforms. But lately, the ones that are getting the most attention and reactions are ones that transport people back to a different time and cause viewers to recall the positive messages they experienced growing up.

Many of you have likely seen the video by now of Steve from Blue’s Clues delivering a heartfelt message to younger millennials in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the show. He shares about where he has been all this time and how the things that he and the many viewers did together has shaped his future. It has helped get him to where he is today. In fact, this message sparked many tearful viewings and reactions from viewers who reminisced about their childhood years with Blue and Steve.

This sparked a trend that enabled others to share characters from their generation who impacted them with messages and moments that they wished they could go back and relive. A very popular, revered character was our favorite TV educator and mentor from Boy Meets World, Mr. George Feeny. We learned many a life lesson from him alongside characters Cory, Shawn, Topanga and Eric. Whether in the classroom or his garden, Mr. Feeny always had valuable advice to give that helped us all gain a little perspective on friendships, personal growth, love for others and how to change the world.

Another popular character who spread many a unifying message about how to be a good neighbor was Mr. Rogers. We all remember traveling to the neighborhood of make-believe and learned how to be brave alongside Daniel Tiger and how to navigate conflict with X the Owl and Henrietta Pussycat. But the greatest impact was the positive messages that Mr. Rogers shared with his own neighbors. Messages that encouraged us to try new things, that taught us how special each of us are and how important it is to help your neighbor.

Mr. Rogers taught young people the importance of helping a neighbor through lessons in the Land of Make Believe.

There are so many messages here that left a lasting impression and unified a whole generation. It is incredibly important for your message to be one that will leave a mark and unify your audience to get behind your business and what you have to offer. At SJC Marketing, we are passionate about assisting you in establishment of that message and helping you share it with the world.
