Located at 618 Francis Street, Owner Wendy Lilly brings her passion to the downtown environment in St. Joseph. The Unique Unicorn is a one-of-a-kind shop that allows you to choose from a variety of beautiful plants and provides education and advice about maintaining and caring for those houseplants.
The Unique Unicorn goes above and beyond to supply new plant adopters with the tools that they will need as well as education on how to care for their new home additions. During specific times of the year, they also offer repotting services for growing plants. The shop features special pots created by local artisans along with their selection of eccentric, fun pots and planters, as well as accessories for your growing plant. The shop currently utilizes a 3D printer to create some of their pots.
It has been a difficult year for small business, and especially businesses that have opened this past year to navigate their approach to challenges created by COVID-19. The Unique Unicorn has handled these challenges very well by sharing their schedule and special events on their social media, doing live adoption and plant sale events, as well as offering private shopping appointments.
In the future, we can look forward to the expansion of offerings that will be provided in the shop and utilizing the shop for small movie nights.
