Who doesn’t want to walk into a bar that looks like a Christmas bomb exploded in it? Add in a holiday cocktail and live music and your inner Clark Griswold would be in heaven. You can have it all at Santa’s Den, a pop-up-themed Christmas bar.

It’s not a new location, but a local watering hole that transforms itself every holiday. Located at the Tiger’s Den at 519 Felix Street, Santa’s Den brings holiday cheer to St. Joseph in a fun, unique way.

Santa's Den is all decked out for Christmas cheer.

The concept of holiday pop-up bars is fairly new. The idea started in 2014 when a bar owner in New York turned his unfinished bar into a holiday-themed bar, per his mother’s advice.

The following year he expanded to four locations and then worldwide. The pop-up bars have become popular in a number of cities, but last year Santa’s Den became the first pop-up bar for St. Joseph.

Santa’s Den is all decked out with a variety of festive touches from hanging lights to garlands and several perfect spots to capture pictures of the party.

The drink menu, which also includes non-alcoholic options, highlights drinks festively named Mr. Grinch, Naughty Elf, Cousin Eddie’s Eggnog and Gingerbread Cookie.

Need a little time to relax during the holidays? Do it with Christmas cheer at Santa's Den.

As writer Dan Q. Dao said, “If the holidays are already feeling less like The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and more like open season on Big Capital, here’s a way to reclaim some Christmas cheer: drinking it.”

This year you can look forward to holiday trivia and a visit from Santa. You can visit and enjoy festivities until December 31st.  For more information or to check out the menu check out the Tiger’s Den Facebook page.
