If you can think of nothing better than curling up with a good book and a hot cup of coffee on a cold winter morning in February, this Monday Morning Coffee is for you!

February is National Library Lover’s Month, celebrating the commitment of entire buildings to books, learning, community gatherings and more.

It also symbolizes the idea that books and resources are meant to be shared as a way for everyone to gain access to them. First, a few fun facts about libraries:

  • There are more libraries in the United States than there are McDonald’s restaurants.
  • Libraries have been around for a long The first lending library was in England in the 17th century.
  • The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with over 170 million items.
  • The smallest library in the world is in Germany. It’s inside a phone booth!
  • Virginia Woolf and Albert Einstein both worked in libraries.

If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate during the month of February, visit the Leavenworth Public Library. They’ve just unveiled a new logo and website designed by our team to capture the important role they play in the community.

The logo and website were updated as a reflection of the vision and values of the Leavenworth Public Library, which had changed significantly over time. Today, they have a vibrant and colorful logo, as well as a user-friendly and accessible website that captures the inclusivity and diversity celebrated at the Library.

Once you’ve checked out the Leavenworth Public Library’s new site, here are more ways to make the most of National Library Lover’s Month:

Get a Library Card. Maybe you had one when you were young, but you’ve gotten out of the habit of visiting the library. You won’t believe the resources available today. Get your library card and have some fun.

Give a Shout-Out. Post about your local library on social media. Maybe a librarian helped you find an obscure book or you recently discovered new technology there that has been helpful.

Sign Up for a Class. Many local libraries host classes or groups that may interest you. From knitting to viewing a movie or children’s classes, there are plenty of ways to enjoy your library.

This February, bring home a stack of books from your local library, then pour yourself an extra cup of coffee. You’ll be reminded of all that’s wonderful about libraries.

And if you, like Leavenworth Public Library, are ready for a new look or an updated website, SJC Marketing can help! Let’s get together to discuss it over a cup of coffee.
