Owner Ashley Dawson, an eight-year St. Joseph resident, has made it her goal to provide the historic town with a sanctuary for readers, promoting shared experiences and the building of relationships through the gift of books. Having always had a passion for reading and novels, Dawson decided to open the bookstore in an effort to build upon the thriving small business culture in St. Joseph. The Story Collective provides the area with yet another gem.
Her passion for St. Joseph and desire to see it thrive led to the purchase of the store. Dawson’s fervor for community and stories made opening a bookstore an obvious choice. She says books are a great way for people to connect and find commonalities, and we agree wholeheartedly. Offering brand new books for all age groups, The Story Collective has something for any reader, and Dawson hopes customers share their experiences with members of the community. Dawson would like to see St. Joseph become a bustling, connected community full of life and stories, and The Story Collective allows for just that.
