It’s National Eat What You Want Day, and if you’re just waking up to this news…well, you’re welcome.
Before you go dig into the leftover chocolate cake for breakfast or grab your keys to head to the closest fast-food restaurant, let’s think about this for just a minute.
Sure, it’s freeing to eat whatever you want. But if you’re only going to get one day, be strategic about it. There are a few restaurants in St. Joe that should be vying for a spot on your free-for-all list:
Begin at the Beginning: With coffee, of course! Kingdom Coffee serves up hot and iced coffees, lattes, cappuccinos and refreshers every morning. Grab a breakfast sandwich, wrap or muffin to enjoy as you begin your Eat What You Want Day. And once you get settled in at this cozy spot, you may decide it’s also Do What You Want Day and feel compelled to call in to work so you can make the most of this occasion.

Stop for Lunch: Tiffany’s Diner might be relatively new in St. Joe, but it’s gaining a reputation as the ideal lunch spot in town! Try the fried chicken or burgers—or, if you feel the need to pace yourself on this special day, try the full salad bar. You will love the fun and friendly diner atmosphere.

Enjoy Mexican Food for Dinner: Make a stop at one of the two Los Compadres locations and choose from fajitas, carne asada street tacos, burritos and chimichangas. And don’t forget the queso dip and chips! It’s National Eat What You Want Day, and it would be un-American to skip the queso.

Finish With Dessert: Stop by Stack and Drizzle for loaded waffles, cookie minis, crepes, cheesecake tacos or Dubai chocolate-covered strawberries. It’s a fun take on everyone’s favorite course, with plenty of menu options to mix and match with a bit of extra sweetness drizzled on top. Go on, finish that last bite!

Maybe you’re shocked at how much you could eat. Maybe you’ve found your new favorite St. Joe spot! But whatever you did to celebrate, it was no doubt delicious. Be sure to mark your calendar for next year’s National Eat What You Want Day and get a head start on your planning!
