A wise man once said, “The food with the biggest flavor often comes from the smallest kitchens.” Today, we’re exploring one of the most delicious local businesses around. Located in the small town of Cosby, Missouri, a close neighbor of St. Joseph with around 126 official residents, Gina’s Café and Catering prides itself on serving high-quality food that fills bellies and brings smiles to both small-town gatherings and community-wide events.

Gina’s Café and Catering was founded in 2010 by owner Regina Calderwood. Built on a passion for cooking and a love of her hometown, Regina has been sharing perfected flavors with Northwest Missourians for more than 15 years. Gina’s dine-in café features weekly specials and fan-favorite appetizers, salads, entrées and desserts, all made from scratch. It is a true hidden gem that boasts some of the tastiest dishes in the area, located just 15 minutes from St. Joseph.

If your mouth is watering but you don’t plan to drive over to Cosby, Gina can bring the food right to you. Gina’s catering services are top-notch, offering exceptional food, easy communication and hassle-free setup from start to finish. Whether you’re planning a business meeting, family gathering, wedding reception or community event, Gina knows what it takes to keep guests happy and coming back for seconds. The catering menu offers something for everyone, including breakfast options, boxed lunches and buffet selections featuring barbecue, Mexican cuisine, pasta and seafood prime rib. You’ll also find a variety of crowd-pleasing appetizers such as Lil’ Smokies, chicken wings and shrimp cocktail, along with homemade pies, cakes and other sweet treats to finish the meal.

As if that wasn’t enough, Gina also offers meal kits for Monday pickup when you don’t feel like cooking. And if you do feel like cooking but aren’t sure where to start, you’re in luck. Gina even offers cooking classes for families and friends who want to sharpen their skills and “get their chef on.” Needless to say, when it comes to food, Regina Calderwood has you covered. Whether you’re craving good old-fashioned country cooking or planning your next big event, be sure to check out Gina’s Café and Catering and follow them on Facebook for daily updates. Maybe it really is the small places that serve the best food.
