A Website That Leaves No Visitor Behind
Since 1993, the St. Joseph Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has introduced millions to the historic town of St. Joseph and the surrounding Buchanan County. But in a forward-facing city, their website felt stuck in the past. It was not only outdated, but also not accessible to all users.
Equipped for the Future
The CVB site offered only the most basic information to visitors arriving in the St. Joseph area. The staff’s ability to make changes and updates was limited.
The CVB team wanted a website that would not only house information, but provide a visual experience that highlighted the area’s sight-seeing opportunities.
A Historic Town With a Modern Feel
SJC’s designer, web developer and account lead met with the CVB team several times, gathering critical information about their priorities for the new website. There were several exciting changes made for the new design.
The new website features an interactive map highlighting major landmarks and attractions, with a pop-up giving a quick overview for each site. The map also uses custom icons and is optimized for functionality across all devices.
The CVB team can now make updates easily, such as adding blogs or events to the calendar. The backend of the site is user-friendly, allowing the CVB team to conduct updates to the sites.
Every Visitor Gets a Warm Welcome
One critical update to the website was accessibility upgrades and adherence to WCAG/ADA standards. It’s also easier than ever to find information, with a new calendar and business directory, both organized for easy access.
The new homepage for the CVB features social media posts, allowing guests to quickly scan the latest community news and upcoming events.

The people of St. Joe have always celebrated the history of this amazing town while embracing a distinctly modern approach. With a new website that prioritizes a great experience for every guest to the area, the CVB has the website to match the St. Joseph spirit of always looking West, always facing the future.
