A sense of anticipation fills the air as the new Rolling Hills Library Building is soon to open, promising a vibrant space where stories, ideas and curiosity will soon come to life. The new building located at 400 Mosaic Court on Riverside has been under construction for the past few months. Those who frequently drive on Riverside may have seen the library signage, piquing their curiosity. Well, now we are very close to the Riverside Branch’s official grand opening, and community bookworms couldn’t be more excited to experience the beautiful facility for themselves.

The new library project amounts to around a $17 million investment, fully funded by reserve money and bonds. The location and architecture are a modern refresh with plenty of windows providing natural lighting and an expansive interior space designed to welcome everyone. The former Belt Branch location was purchased as part of a strip mall and required many changes to accommodate the public and the library’s evolving needs. The new building offers outstanding library services and facilities for St. Joseph with ample room for programs, events and community gatherings.

This valuable addition to the community has residents eager to explore it themselves. The Riverside space has an official grand opening date of May 9. If you haven’t had the chance to drive by the building yet, you definitely should. One glimpse and you’ll be more excited to read than you were as a kid at the book fair. St. Joseph is proud of this new addition to our community, and we will take advantage of its resources and enjoy it as much as possible. After all, libraries are for everyone, and this one promises to serve as a hub for education, creativity and connection for all who visit.
