Monday Morning Coffee: Your Official November Bucket List

October may have brought us scary movies, pumpkin patches, hayrides and caramel apples, but November has its own charm. It’s the perfect month to start slowing down, savoring the season and making the most of fall before winter sets in. So settle in, get cozy and grab a warm drink while we discuss our autumn essentials. We formally present to you the official 2025 St. Joseph November Bucket List.

 Catch a Football Game

In America, fall weekends and football just go together. Catch a local high school game under the Friday night lights, or stop by Pappy’s Bar and Grill for a Sunday Chiefs game with friends. However you watch, it’s the perfect way to soak up the season. Nothing screams “fall” like a good ole’ football game.

Enjoy a Seasonal Drink…That Isn’t a PSL

Let’s face it, everyone jumped on the PSL train when they were first added back to menus early September-ish. There are so many fun places to enjoy a fall drink. Grab a Cinnamon Roll Shaken Espresso or a Blueberry Cobbler Latte from Cup of Joe. Or…what if, just what if, you sipped a hot apple cider while you watched movies on your couch at home. That’s a picturesque November Saturday night if you ask us.

Enjoy a Fall Krug Park Afternoon

Krug Park is a St. Joseph staple year-round, but there’s something magical about it in November. The air is crisp, the trails are quiet and the last leaves crunch softly underfoot. Whether you’re walking the trails, taking photos of the season’s colors or simply enjoying a peaceful moment on a bench with a warm drink, a fall afternoon at Krug Park is a perfect way to slow down and savor November.

Explore Local Shops on Small Business Saturday

The Saturday after Black Friday is Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting the shops and businesses that keep our community unique. As you wrap up your holiday shopping over Thanksgiving weekend, skip the big-box lines and discover one-of-a-kind gifts close to home. Shopping local doesn’t just check names off your list; it strengthens our community, supports neighbors and makes every purchase more meaningful.

You’ve got the rest of this month to make this November a time to cherish. Embrace the season of gratitude, cozy up on your couch with a warm mug and enjoy the crisp autumn breeze. Before you know it, those red and orange leaves will turn to snowflakes, and hot cider will give way to cocoa. Don’t let the season pass you by. Happy November!
