There are two types of people in this world: those who live and breathe football, and those who tune into the Super Bowl solely for the commercials. This Monday, as we recover from yesterday’s unofficial holiday, let’s relive some of the best Super Bowl memories—off the field—and share a few of our favorite commercials from past games.
The Super Bowl has become a showcase for brands to flex their creativity and deliver some of the most memorable, belly-laugh-inducing ads imaginable. Over the years, we’ve been spoiled with gems like Doritos’ “Ultrasound,” which had us cracking up with its hilarious take on snack cravings, and Reebok’s “Terry Tate: Office Linebacker,” a fan-favorite that merged office culture with football chaos.
Of course, who could forget the Budweiser Clydesdales? These majestic horses have graced our screens for decades, delivering everything from heartfelt stories to clever humor. And just last year, Tubi’s “Interface Interruption” gave all viewers a moment of panic when it cleverly mimicked a channel change mid-game—and people were blaming each other for sitting on the remote. Arguably it is one of the most talked-about ads in recent Super Bowl history.
Yesterday’s commercials certainly did not disappoint, either. We saw hilarious and memorable ads from top brands like Little Caesars, Pringles, Reese’s, Michelob Ultra, and more, making every break from the action more enjoyable. Doritos even brought back their fan-favorite “Crash the Super Bowl” campaign, airing the top fan-made commercial as voted on by fans worldwide.
The Super Bowl was special this year, showcasing incredible athleticism, unforgettable plays, and the crowning of a new champion. But there’s more to the Super Bowl than big hits and touchdown celebrations, it’s a truly cultural event. They say sports bring people together, and we couldn’t agree more…though we bring equal enthusiasm to the advertising. (I mean, hey, we are a marketing agency, after all.)
Whether you watched for the game, the ads, or both, there’s no denying the magic of the Super Bowl. We hope you enjoyed the big game and the pricey string of ads that accompanied it! Until next year…
