4 Secrets to Creating Instagram Stories That Engage Your Audience
Create Content That Followers Love to Anticipate
Instagram Stories is a great platform for displaying the visual appeal of your brand, but it’s not enough just to throw a few pictures together. You need to create content that your audience will anticipate and look forward to viewing. Fortunately, Instagram Stories offers a variety of features that make it easy to make your content more compelling, and there are also some strategies you can use to make the most of your efforts:
Create visual cohesiveness around your brand. You likely have a comprehensive marketing plan, where you’ve identified the color scheme and fonts of your brand. Make sure this carries over to Instagram Stories, so that your audience knows it’s you before they see your brand name. Whether it’s the voice of your brand or a certain camera angle that always appears on your material, make sure you create a consistent message around your brand.
Add fun design features to make content more engaging. From stickers to GIFs, there are plenty of design features in Instagram Stories to help you create content that’s exciting. Instagram Stories adds a location, a hashtag or even a poll to find new ways to connect with your audience.
Hashtag or location stickers give you the opportunity to reach new audiences. If you visit a popular tourist destination, for instance, and tag the location, you might reach others planning to tour that region and gain a few followers that you might not otherwise reach.
Choose text and brush color options in your Story. There are a lot of fonts and brush stroke options in Instagram Stories, but even within these features you can get even more detailed. If you hold your finger down on any of the color options, Instagram will display an even wider range of color options. Better yet, use the eyedropper tool to the left of the color palette to choose an exact color from your picture. You’ll achieve a cohesive look when colors are pulled out of your image.
Utilize the Swipe Up feature. If you have an Instagram Business profile with at least 10,000 followers, you should be using the Swipe Up feature. This allows you to put a call to action that takes your followers directly to your website’s home page, product page or another post for more information.
